Departing from the Mount Morgan
Information Centre Railway Complex, the tour proceeds through William Street and
around the Number Seven Big Dam, followed by the point stop of the recently
constructed suspension Bridge.
The tour then ventures on through the town highlighting various points of interest of both historical and redeveloped buildings. Set down sites strategically chosen for maximum information and enjoyment. A panoramic view of the town and mine is then offered from the Arthur Timms Lookout. The tour proceeds along the banks of the Dee River then onto the mine site stopping at the special viewing platform , delving through the historical aspects of the 108 years of mining. View the old underground workings and the main Stack. See and feel the environmental rehabilitation projects underway on the Mount Morgan mine site by the Queensland Government. Overlook the Open Cut Pit as we wind our way to the man made fire clay caverns and take an inside look at the Jurassic era
displayed with the dinosaur
footprints
and cavern excavation.
